Venues with House Systems
Spaces that have equipment but need a technician to set up, operate, and break down.
Event Producers
Producers who need reliable crew for load-in, setup, and breakdown.
Corporate Event Planners
Planners who need a technician on-site for presentations, panels, and meetings.
Artists & Performers
Performers who need someone to set up and run sound for their show.
Technician and labor support for events of any size. Small events may need one technician for setup and operation. Larger events may require a team — technician, engineer, and stagehands — coordinated through our rental partners.
Technician Only
A technician to set up, operate, and break down equipment at your venue. No equipment rental included.
Technician + Equipment
Equipment delivered with a technician to set up and operate it during your event.
Production Crew
A coordinated team — technician, engineer, and stagehands — for larger events and multi-room productions.
Book a technician for setup and operation, or upgrade to a sound engineer for live mixing, monitor management, and real-time audio adjustments during performances. Engineers handle FOH mixing, feedback control, and multi-artist changeovers.
Technicians are trained on battery-powered systems for outdoor events and venues with limited power. Battery setup, charging management, and runtime monitoring are included when applicable.
For larger events, we scale crew through established rental partners — additional technicians, stagehands, riggers, and engineers. You get a coordinated team with clear roles and a single point of contact.
What does an event technician do?
An event technician handles equipment setup, cabling, soundcheck, signal routing, and basic operation during the event. They ensure microphones work, speakers are positioned, levels are set, and issues are resolved quickly. For events needing mixing and engineering, we provide a dedicated sound engineer.
Can I book a technician without renting equipment?
Yes. If your venue has a house PA system or existing audio equipment, we can send a technician to set up and operate it. You do not need to rent equipment from us to book production labor.
What is the difference between a technician and a sound engineer?
A technician handles physical setup, cabling, equipment placement, and basic operation. A sound engineer handles live mixing — front-of-house levels, monitor mixes, EQ, feedback control, and real-time adjustments during a performance. Many events need both; simpler events may only need a technician.
How much does event production labor cost in NYC?
Technician and engineer rates vary based on event length, setup complexity, and whether equipment is included. We provide a written quote before booking so you know the full labor cost upfront.
Do you provide labor for load-in and breakdown only?
Yes. If you have your own equipment but need help with load-in, setup, breakdown, and removal, we can provide production labor for those tasks without operating the system during the event.
Can you provide crew for larger events?
Yes. For larger events, we scale crew through established partners — additional technicians, stagehands, riggers, and engineers as needed. You get a coordinated team with a single point of contact.
Final pricing depends on event duration, location, audience size, transportation, venue access, equipment requirements, setup time, staffing, power availability, and breakdown requirements. Threshold provides a written quote before booking.
